Tabula Rasa
2008 - 2009
(show time: March 15-19, 2009)
Interactive Dance Performace
UCC Theatre Green Room,
Singapore
-
internship project during in Midea Lab., Singapore.
"Tabula Rasa is an interactive media performance, which goes against the grain of the more “traditional” arts performances we are used to."
"The production features an environment wired with laser beams and detectors, short PVC tubes covered with membranes and a tiny mirrored screen in the centre of the membrane. Enter a solo dancer hooked up with ECG, with flex and membrane pressure sensors to capture and simulate her heartbeat, body responses and movements. As she dances within the designated space, she creates layers of sounds and laser projection patterns with her every movement and body responses. The entire performance is brought together with the aid of sound and digital technology, resulting in a production that is at once absorbing and technologically complex."
